On Tuesday I went to Londrina with the missionaries that were being
transferred from Marilia. Then I stayed there all day and talked
with friends and what not. Elder J. Silva and Elder McBride are both
training. That makes me a g'pa on the mission.
Elder Farias and I stayed at some wack hotel on Tuesday
night. Then early Wednesday morning we went to the institute
building for the leadership conference. After lunch we started a
fast. We sat there from 2 until 8 just watching trainings and
discussing mission issues. Many times I felt that president said
stuff directly to me but in a general way. There were many times
that he would say something and look directly at me. He doesn't have
a good poker face.
We went back to the hotel on Wednesday night. Thursday morning
we woke up early and went back to the institute building for the
2nd session of the leadership conference. It ended at 3 o clock in
the afternoon. Then we went to the bus station to wait until 7 to
get the bus. We brought with us a ton of missionary supplies and
material and got home at 10:30. I was dead tired.
Friday we got a call from the elders in Jacarezinho (2 hours
from Marilia) who said that they needed us to do a baptismal
interview. So we had to head out there. We did it and slept in
Jacarezinho on Friday night. They don't have extra cushions so we
slept on the cold hard tile floor. I got a cold that night that I
still have.
We came back Saturday afternoon. We got back at 6 at night because
there weren't too many buses that came to Marilia. I was not too
happy.
The good news is that we're going to baptize 2 people this week.
Tania and Jonatan. Then we're trying to help another family get
married and then baptized. That will probably be around February.
That will be a family of 4. Things are going well here in my area.
My head's been hurting for a long time but i'll move on.
Elder Farias is from Santa Catarina. That's in the south of Brasil
where everything is more developed, cooler and better quality. He's
cool. He talks extremely fast.
That's about it for this week. I'm out -
